What to do when Claude Code hits its five-hour limit

A usage window can stop the tool while the repository is still in a half-finished state. The safest response is not a larger pasted transcript. It is a short, current task handoff.

Capture the state before the boundary

Record the goal, decisions, files changed, commands and checks, blockers, and the next concrete action. Keep credentials and private transcript material out of anything you plan to share.

Continue with a tool you already use

keepitmovin watches for Claude Code's actual limit status, refreshes a local handoff during work, and can start the next configured tool with that handoff. You can also press Ctrl+] before the limit.

Respect the provider limit

The handoff changes tools; it does not bypass or evade Claude's usage rules. Return to Claude when your account becomes available again.
