Guide
Switch from Claude Code to Codex mid-task
The two tools do not share private chat state. A clean switch therefore depends on a project-owned handoff rather than a transcript export.
Before switching
Make sure the handoff names the current goal, settled decisions, changed files, commands and checks, blockers, and the next action. Do not commit unfinished work just to transfer it; both tools can inspect the same working tree.
Make the handoff
With keepitmovin, configure Claude before Codex and press Ctrl+]. Claude is stopped, repository state is refreshed, and Codex starts with the handoff path and a request to acknowledge the goal and next action.
Verify receipt, not understanding
A short machine-readable response confirms that Codex read and restated the handoff. It cannot prove semantic understanding, so keepitmovin reports “handoff received” and continues even when the receipt is missing.
